About Me

--------------------

With her ancestors settling in Bihar after Partition...Jaswinder was born at her maternal grandfather’s house in the ‘renowned’ town of Bhagalpur. She did her schooling in Patna at the Notre Dam Academy and later moved to Mumbai to pursue her B.A. at Mithibai College. However she readily admits that the pursuit of higher education was only an excuse to help her convince her parents to allow her to come to the city where she believed her celluloid dreams would be realized and her destiny fulfilled.

With a flair for designing she soon joined JD’s to sharpen-up her designing skills and thereafter bravely launched herself onto the tough and demanding world of costume designing for Indian Television and Films. To support herself during this period she dablled with modeling and soon became a known face in the fashion and advertising industry. Too preoccupied establishing herself as a costume designer it never crossed Jaswinder’s mind then that her true destiny was facing a camera and not being a part of the behind-the-scenes support.

She successfully designed costumes for Sunil Dutt, Juhi Chawla, Mahima Chaudhry, Antara Mali, Irfan Khan, Arshad Warsi, Archana Puran Singh, Puneet Issar, etc…in “Road”, “Company”, “Munnabhai MBBS”, ‘Filmstar”, “Krish” etc. For Televesion she did the entire look and costumes for the cast of “Kumkum’, (Starplus) and “Kitty Party”.

With friends and colleagues encouraging her, it was not long before Jaswinder heard the voice of her true calling beckoning her. She plunged headlong into facing the cameras once more and in a span of the three previous years has under her belt more then 100 TV commercials for leading brands such as Birla Sunlife, Horlicks, Birla Putty, Big Bazaar, Colgate, Ankur Salt etc…and the more recent ones being Sunfeast Pasta Treat, Harpic, Bingo-Tedhe-Medhe, Haier Refrigerators with John Abraham, Softheel with Rajpal Yadav, Nestle and Axis Bank.

She has been seen on the silver screen in UTV’s “Chillar Party” directed by Vikas Behl, Avant Garde Productions “Chitkabrey” directed by Suneet Verma, UTV’s “Thank You” directed by Anees Bazmi and T Series “Ready” directed by Anees Bazmi and now latest in "Rowdy Rathod " directed by Prabhudeva.. 2012 biggest hit..
